18th Annual Easter Bonnet Pet Parade Returns To Downtown Delray

Staff report

The popular Easter Bonnet Pet Parade will return to Old School Square Park on April 7.

This year, the event will be led by Sandra Dezelan and Dezzy’s Second Chance Rescue.

The canine fashion carnival features mutts of all sizes showing off their spring attire, including Easter bonnets.

Prizes will be awarded for most traditional bonnet, most original, funniest, most tropical, and owner-doggie lookalike. The Best of Show honor will be awarded through People’s Choice.

Arrive early for special photo ops with Tulluia the Mini Pony, while shopping for pet-related products and listening to tunes by DJ Howie the Soul Man.

Pet registration begins at 10:15 a.m. on the center grounds of Old School Square. The parade leaves at 11:00 a.m. and travels south on 2nd Avenue (Pineapple Grove Way) to Atlantic Avenue, turns west and heads to Cornell Museum of Art for judging and prizes in each category.

A $5 registration donation for parade participates will benefit the local rescue.
