Detourbutterfly, also known as Nikki Saraiva, is a multimedia artist from South Florida. As a self taught artist, her art comes from a place where color & commodity meet love & disdain. She engages her viewers through paintings, bone art, assemblage, jewelry and modeling. Her bone art is the reconstructing of bones, horns and talons that are brought together to celebrate life that has past – yet in new form. Her fascination for unique objects, curiosities and emotion gives inspiration to her work. She may stretch herself across the map of creative thinking, but it’s within that space that it all comes to life. Detourbutterfly’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries including most recently in the “Sustain” exhibition at Art House of Delray. www.detourbutterfly.com.
