BOCA RATON, FL – Professional performers from TV’s popular Dancing with the Stars are taking to the stage at the Wick Theatre in Boca Raton this month for a special seasonal entertainment treat.

Guest pros from DWTS — Tristan MacManus, Chelsie Hightower, Lacey Schwimmer, Gleb Savchenko and Jonathan Roberts – are appearing on a rotating basis through Dec. 27 to anchor “Ballroom with a Twist-Mas,” a special holiday production. Appearing with them are entertainers from American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.

“We hope all you guys will come out for the show,” Chelsie Hightower told Boca Raton and area residents in a telephone call from her home in Utah. The 26-year-old has been a regular on Dancing with the Stars for seven seasons.  Prior to that, she tore up the floor on So You Think You Can Dance from age 15 to 19.

The holiday show in Boca, she said, will consist of “two hours packed full of entertainment and seasonal joy.  We’ll be bringing a lot of holiday cheer.”

“Dancing is very big in Utah,” Chelsie said. “My elementary school had a ballroom program.  Before that, my mother put me in a jazz and ballet program, but I was not really interested.  When I saw the ballroom program at school, it had something that really made me want to do it. I became pretty obsessed with it.”

The only girl among six siblings, Chelsie said she honed her craft on So You Think You Can Dance, then took it to the bigger DWTS stage.  “I had been training in teaching dance, so I was prepared for that.  But I was not prepared for how big Dancing with the Stars was. At first, as a 19-year-old, I was overwhelmed.” After the first season, she put this behind her, but admits, “I really work hard. I put all my efforts into it.”

In her time on DWTS, Chelsie said she has not suffered any injuries – “knock wood” – or wardrobe malfunctions. “They do a good job keeping our costumes on.”

She said she has made many friends among cast members, and thinks co-host Tom Bergeron is “a kind, funny person, a great guy.  He is the same in real life as he is on the show.”
