Big Vodka, Big Moves Dixie Southern Vodka Puts the South in South Beach

Dixie Southern Vodka has come to South Florida. As the largest premium craft vodka produced in the Southeast and South Carolina’s biggest spirit brand, Charleston-based Dixie Vodka has added the Sunshine State as one of its biggest markets.

Until recently, sales were focused primarily on the northern part of the state. Due to popular demand from South Florida retailers, bars and restaurants, the brand is now prominent throughout the territory. Currently almost a third of brand sales within Florida are from the southern portion of the state, versus a mere 5% last year.

Peach VodkaThe 9th fastest-growing spirit brand in the U.S., Dixie’s core product, Southern Vodka is six-times distilled from All-American corn, 80-proof and is naturally gluten-free. Partnering with local farmers throughout the Southern region to highlight the best flavors around, Dixie Vodka comes in Wildflower Honey, Black Pepper, Peach, Mint, and Citrus.

A key component in the decision to expand in Florida is the brand’s recent and exciting citrus partnership with Lykes Bros. Inc., one of Florida’s most iconic growers. The Lykes family has been growing high-quality citrus in Florida since the late 1800s and began planting their current groves in the 1940s. The award-winning Dixie Citrus uses a special blend of all-natural citrus flavors and Valencia oranges grown on the Lykes Ranch.

Another connection to Florida is Dixie Vodka’s parent company, West Palm Beach-based Grain & Barrel Spirits. They are members of 1% For the Planet and have supported Charleston, South Carolina-based The Bee Cause Project since 2018. This initiative provides observation hives to educate the public on the importance of pollinators. This year, one of the hives funded by Grain & Barrel was set up in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

The move to South Florida has been incredible exposure for Dixie, as repeat sales and distribution have grown quickly. Retail outlets carrying the vodka include Big Daddy’s, Total Beverage and ABC. Key restaurant partnerships have emerged as well, including Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill, Grove Bay Group, Rocco‘s Tacos & Tequila Bar and a month-long takeover of the pop-up bar at Miami’s Time Out Market.

Expect to see more from this rapidly expanding spirit. Dixie Southern Vodka is making big moves and their parent company is pleased. As are fans of authentically-American, responsibly sourced, craft vodka across the Sunshine State.
