Community Groups Use Art to Beautify Construction Fence

The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition (WARC) and the Milagro Center unveiled a collaborative project of artistic fence banners installed on the CRA-owned 805 West Atlantic Avenue (northwest corner of West Atlantic and NW 8th Avenues) on Wednesday, June 26th. The site previously contained a gas station, and contamination was identified at the time of the CRA’s acquisition of the property in 2006. The site is currently under soil and groundwater remediation which will take approximately 2 to 4 years to complete. The banners were placed during the remediation in an effort to beautify the existing condition of the site and represent community-driven cooperation between the CRA, WARC and the Milagro Center organizations. The unveiling was a photo opportunity to the public and a showcase of the Milagro Center students’ artwork.
