Crane’s 10th annual ‘Tasting at the Tiki’ supports Project Holiday

Staff report

As the city gears up for the 14th annual “Project Holiday” to send care packages overseas to troops away from home for the holidays, Crane’s Beach House is hosting its 10th annual “Tasting at The Tiki” to support the cause.

The event will take place at at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Crane’s Tiki Hut. Tickets $20, which includes food tastings, one drink, live music by the pool and raffle entry for a stay at Crane’s Beach House.

A portion of proceeds will be made to Project Holiday.  In addition, guests can bring items to send to the troops that have a local connection.

“The U.S. military has more than 1.3 million men and women on active duty, with 450,000 of them stationed in ‘hot spots’ overseas such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria,” said organizer Delores Rangel. “The care packages that servicemen and servicewomen receive from Project Holiday makes a huge positive difference in both effectiveness and morale.”
