One day at Delray Beach in 2008 changed everything for nineteen year old Cruise Bogle and his family. Skim boarding with friends on his first winter break home from college, Cruise was enjoying his friends and a sport he had enjoyed many times before. A freak fall in the water landed Cruise on his head and he sustained a C4 spinal cord injury, paralyzing him immediately from the chest down. Hope, love, grit and support from family, friends and this wonderful community all help keep Cruise persevering forward. He works hard at his rehabilitation as well as pursues artistic and entrepreneurial passions, inspiring all around him. Each year friends and family come together for an incredible evening of fun at what is fondly known as the “Cruiser Palooza”. This community event has become a great venue of live music, silent and live auctions, raffle and dinner, and has a huge attendance. People come from Miami to Tallahassee to enjoy an amazing event that helps raise much needed funds for Cruise’s daily care and therapies. This year’s “Cruiser Palooza” will be held on April 20th 2013 at the Delray Playhouse at 950 NW 9th Street in Delray Beach. The planning is underway to make this the best ever, and the community’s help is needed. There are many ways to give support. A monetary donation, an item for the live or silent auctions, raffle etc…any and all are gratefully accepted. Food and drink donations are also being sought. Showing your support will undoubtedly be beneficial to your business, as this event is attended by so many wonderful, long time Delray Beach neighbors.
