Delray Beach Home Tour Brings In Record $145,000 For Achievement Centers

Staff report

It was a record fundraising year for the 18th annual Delray Beach Home Tour hosted by the Achievement Centers for Children & Families Foundation on March.

More than 650 folks visited eight homes with Intracoastal views and eclectic art collections.

Total, $145,000 was raised for the Achievement Centers for Children & Families programs and services providing early education and childcare to low-income children and families in Delray Beach.

The Home Tour began in 2002 with board members Anne Bright and Barbara Murphy leading the program. The Bright residence was featured as one of this year’s homes. This year’s returning Chair people were Kari Shipley and Noreen Payne, both long-time supporters of the Achievement Centers.

Since its inception, the event showcases a different Delray Beach neighborhood. The 2019 event was held in the Seagate neighborhood. Everything from modern contemporary to stunning waterfront estates, the houses catered to everyone’s tastes and interests. Molly’s Trolleys transported guests to the homes, and to the catered waterfront luncheon that was provided by Carefree Catering. The event also offered a silent auction.

The Delray Beach Home tour also kicked off the “Spring to ACCF Tour Challenge” during which a donor has offered to donate $100 to ACCF for every person who attends a free 40-minute tour on 4/27, 4/29, or 5/3.
