CEO and president of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Karen Granger has submitted her resignation and the chamber Board of Directors has accepted it.
In an email sent out on May 31, chair of the board Cathy Balestriere announces Granger’s departure.
Here is the email from Balestriere:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, we are accepting the resignation of Karen Granger as CEO. We are grateful for her accomplishments and years of dedicated service to this valuable organization.
We wish Karen well in her future endeavors and look forward to her continued participation as a valued member of our community. Going forward, the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve and support our local business community.
The Board has appointed an interim leadership & transition team to oversee the day to day operations and create a strategic plan. During this time the board will initiate a six-month search to find a new CEO for the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. During this transition period, our priority is to find the best individual to lead, while maintaining the Chamber as an effective organization.”
The email also included the following note from Granger:
“After a great deal of thought and many conversations, I have decided to leave my position as your President and CEO at the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. This will come as a surprise to many, as you all know how much I love this Chamber family and treasure our community.
We’ve come so far together and I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done. Many dedicated individuals came before me to create this vibrant Chamber. I count myself quite blessed to have served you in this unique role. Now it’s time for the next leader to take what we’ve built and continue to drive our mission forward. I look forward to remaining involved in this community in another capacity.
Sincere thanks to my teammates who work morning, noon and night to serve you. They make it look so easy. To Kim, Lynn, Marianna, Patty and Todd – like we say to our members, “We do business together and we do life together.” I appreciate you so much.
I will continue to support, connect and encourage you in any way that I can.
Thank you for your friendship, support and passion for our Chamber and our City. Please keep in touch via my personal email email@example.com.”
