Delray City Manager Don Cooper has submitted his resignation to his bosses, the commissioners.
In a letter to commissioners dated Oct. 30, he states he is submitting his resignation because family medical issues will interfere with his ability to properly perform his job.
His last day will be Dec. 30. Cooper started with the city in January 2015.
Cooper was selected by commissioners because of his experience both in the public and private sector. He worked as the chief financial officer for Torrey Pines Institute of Molecular Studies. Prior, he served as city manager for Port St. Lucie for 19 years.
