DELRAY BEACH, FL – Meet three famous fashion icons at the Delray Beach Public Library’s 4th annual Girls, Pearls, Hats & Heels, a two-day charitable event held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and benefitting the library’s Foothold on the Future campaign and Bethesda Hospital Foundation. Local designers Carlos Marrero, Amanda Perna and Kendra Scott are set to join the party at the Seagate Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 6-9 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 8, from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Event chairs Nilsa McKinney and Karen Rogers will take this fabulous annual event to the next level with the addition of these three local fashion dignitaries: • Carlos Marrero – A seasoned, fashion illustrator for over 25 years, Morero’s work has been featured in Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Deco Drive and Vogue magazines. His designs have been featured in Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and Henri Bendel and have been worn by many local celebrities. Carlos has agreed to design a one-of-a-kind, special edition scarf to be given to all the women in the event’s Survivor’s Circle. He will be attending the VIP Preview Night showcasing The Marrero Collection and will personally autograph all the limited edition scarves for the Survivor’s Circle with a specially designed pen at the Girls, Pearls, Hat & Heels daytime event. • Amanda Perna – A noted fashion designer and Project Runway contestant in 2011 and 2015, Perna is the creator of the House of Perna, the fun, beachy, colorful clothing you want to pack for your next island vacation. She also has had a great deal of success in styling for individuals, commercials and major companies, such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Her unique colors, fabrics and prints grace the covers of national and international magazines and are featured on catwalks from New York and California to Paris. Perna will be at the VIP Preview Night as well as the daytime event, selling her creations and taking special orders for one-of-a-kind clothing creations for the holiday season. • Kendra Scott – Jewelry designer turned brand visionary and CEO, Scott has led the inspiration and design process for each seasonal collection she offers since 2002. She has revolutionized the jewelry industry by providing women with beautiful, quality, handcrafted jewelry at affordable prices. At the VIP Preview Night, Kendra will be giving every woman in attendance a specially-designed piece of her signature jewelry.
