Four Developers Compete for Prime Site in Downtown Delray Core

The CRA Board will hear presentations from four development teams competing for a chance to redevelop the Delray Core Business District Fourth & Fifth Avenues site at a public workshop scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2013, beginning at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the City Commission Chambers at the Delray Beach City Hall, 100 NW 1st Avenue. The CRA Board is anticipated to select a developer for the site at the regular meeting immediately following the workshop. The Fourth & Fifth Avenues Site includes the Old Library Building on SE 4th Avenue, the Chamber of Commerce office building on SE 5th Avenue, and the adjacent public parking lot. The CRA received four responses to the Request for Proposals (RFP), issued on February 17, 2013. All four responses have been analyzed for financial feasibility and evaluated by a staff review committee to determine compliance with the requirements of the RFP. Electronic copies of the four development proposals under consideration, as well as the financial analysis of the proposals, can be viewed and downloaded on the CRA website. Under the terms of the RFP’s No-Lobbying Provision, all representatives of the prospective developers are prohibited from contacting any CRA Board or staff members about the RFP until the CRA board selects a proposal, rejects all proposals, or otherwise takes action which ends the solicitation process.
