The Delray Beach Public Library announced that Nancy L. Dockerty has been elected President of the Library Board of Directors. Dockerty joined the Library’s Board of Directors in 2008 and became Board Treasurer in 2011. “I understand the unique nature of the Delray Beach Public Library as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation that is not part of the county or City system. It is an honor to become President of the Board of this library, which is funded with both public and private funds,” said Ms. Dockerty. Dockerty is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Originally from Texas, she moved to Delray Beach in 2000 to join the firm of Dockerty, Romer & Co., a full-service commercial mortgage banking and real estate brokerage company in Delray Beach. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Boca Raton, the Advisory Council of the Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition and the Endowment Board of the Junior League of Boca Raton. She was the Event Chairperson for the Library’s fantastic Centennial Birthday Bash and joins a team of outstanding community leaders on this new Library Board of Directors. They include Robert G. Currie – Vice President and Brian G. Cheslack – Secretary. “We are grateful to have Nancy as our new Board President because she will bring her many talents, people-skills and boundless energy to this position as we begin our second century in Delray Beach,” said Alan Kornblau, Library Director.
