New Florida Art Academy Reflects the Rebirth of Classical Realism

At the Bossik Academy of Fine Art (, a new art studio in Delray Beach, Florida, students learn the drawing and painting methods used by the old masters like Rembrandt and da Vinci. Eric Bossik, an award-winning fine artist, started the academy to teach classical realism, a new and growing trend. “I’m keeping the teaching style of the old master artists alive by modeling my art courses after their methods,” Bossik says. Students who take courses at the Bossik Academy of Fine Art experience a teaching environment similar to that of the ateliers and academies in France and Italy. “I give students one-on-one instruction,” Bossik says. “That’s the way it was done in the famous ateliers, which were essentially private art studios where master artists taught their students.” To enhance this experience, Eric Bossik chose the trendy Artists Alley district in downtown Delray Beach as the location for his academy. Eric Bossik is extremely excited about Artists Alley, a thriving art colony of studios and galleries in the Pineapple Grove area of Delray Beach. ”You can feel the creative energy here and it’s really helping the arts flourish in South Florida,” he says. “I’m grateful that it’s here, and I’m very happy to be around fellow artists.” In his studio in Artists Alley, Eric Bossik teaches students of all skill levels how to draw and paint from still life setups, live models, and classical Greek casts. “By passing on traditional painting methods to my students, I know I’m giving them skills that are impossible to gain any other way,” says Eric Bossik. Eric Bossik is a graduate of The School of Visual Arts in New York. After receiving a BFA in fine art, he continued his studies at John Frederick Murray’s private New York-based atelier. In South Florida, Mr. Bossik has been painting commissioned portraits for private art collectors and has taught classic art methods at the Armory Art Center. The Bossik Academy of Fine Art is located in the Linda White Gallery in Artists Alley, 345 NE 4th St., #C, in Delray Beach.
