Pompey Park Offers New Summer Camps and Programs

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department offers recreational and fun programs to our residents and visitors year round. New programs and camps at Pompey Park starting in the summer feature a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy! ZUMBA FITNESS The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department and Pompey Park Recreation Center will be offering Zumba Fitness beginning July 7. Come out and stimulate your mental and physical health through fun, music, and dance. You are guaranteed to have a joyful workout experience for the body, mind, and spirit. Interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance exercises are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat!! The days offered are Monday and Wednesday in 6 week sessions beginning at 6pm and ending at 7pm. The fees are $5 resident per class and $6 non-resident per class. Sign up for the six week session for $50 and save $10. The instructor will be Angela Williams, a certified Zumba Fitness and Zumba Gold instructor. FUTURE LEADERS SPORTS CAMP The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department and Pompey Park Recreation Center offers the Future Leaders Sports Camp that began on June 9 and ends August 1. This is a summer program for ages 8-12 learning different sports every week in a structured setting. The days offered are Monday- Friday from 8am – 12pm. The fees are $25 per week. FLAG FOOTBALL & CHEER CAMP The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department and Pompey Park Recreation Center will be offering Flag Football and Cheer Camp. Fundamentals will be taught and volunteers are welcome! Flag Football began on June 2 and ends July 17. Program days are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm – 8pm and the cost is $5 per participant. All participants are required to complete a registration form. Ages are 5-15 and open to the public. Cheer Camp began June 9 and ends July 18. Program days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm – 8pm and the cost is $5 per participant. All participants are required to complete a registration form. Ages are 5-15 and open to the public.
