Seminar for construction contractors


The Associated Builders and Contractors, East Florida Chapter, will hold a seminar for construction company owners and financial officers regarding year-end accounting standard changes that will affect how contractors report revenue in 2019 financial statements required for banking and bonding purposes.

The seminar is co-sponsored by the South Florida Chapter of Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

Scheduled for Jan. 8 at Farmer’s Table Restaurant from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, the seminar will be presented by Shavell & Company, P.A., CPAs and Consultants specializing in accounting for the construction industry. The seminar includes breakfast. Registration is $75 per attendee or $65 for ABC or CFMA members.

A follow-up “How To” seminar of hands-on guidance to implement the new standard is scheduled on Jan. 16 at Farmer’s Table Restaurant from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., also led by Shavell & Company, PA. This workshop provides tools including standardized workpapers in excel to help contractors implement the standard.
