Tennis Center Serves As Delray Green Market Summer Home

DELRAY BEACH, FL – After 19 years of operations, the Delray Beach GreenMarket, presented by the Delray Beach CRA, is pleased to announce it will now operate the popular weekly event throughout the summer months. Located on the eastern half of the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the Summer GreenMarket will take place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, from now through September 26. The purpose of the CRA is to improve to quality of life in the Delray Beach area, and its management of the GreenMarket is a positive extension of that mission. The Summer GreenMarket was established to fill the previously unmet demand for locally produced products and goods in the summer months. “This request has really come from the community,” said Lori Nolan, GreenMarket community,” said Lori Nolan, GreenMarket Manager. “It’s been a long time coming, so we are so excited the day has finally arrived!” The Summer GreenMarket will be a slightly scaled back version of the regular Green Market, with about 30 to 35 vendors participating each Saturday morning. In addition, the hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon only, to avoid the summer afternoon heat. As always, the GreenMarket is pet friendly, and guests can continue to enjoy live music throughout the morning. Established in 1985, the CRA is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary of leadership and landmark change. The Summer GreenMarket marks just another milestone the CRA has created toward providing a thriving community within its district. The GreenMarket was launched in 1996 by the Delray Beach CRA and has since become one of the most popular and charming aspects of the city. The GreenMarket features numerous vendors from Palm Beach County and beyond, offering farm-to-fork produce, just picked citrus and juice, farm fresh eggs, raw milk and butter, 100% grass-fed and finished (antibiotic and hormone free) Florida beef, poultry, pork and lamb, fragrant artisan baked goods, plenty of gluten-free, vegan and sugar-free products, fresh-cut flowers, plants and other unique gourmet fare along with live musical entertainment each week.
