The Ancient Olive Celebrates Small Business Saturday All Month Long

Shop Small. Shop Local. For The Ancient Olive, this is something they strive to do all year long. So when Small Business Saturday comes along, owners Bryan Behling and Jeffrey Shrader put their hearts into celebrating — creating energy and excitement in store and also with other area small businesses. Small Business Saturday, taking place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving – Nov. 30th, is a movement started by American Express in 2010 to drive shoppers to local merchants across the U.S. The Ancient Olive believes that supporting local merchants should not be limited to one day, so they will be celebrating all month long with special events and promotions taking place in the store. While The Ancient Olive is known for their high-quality extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars, they also carry artisanal gourmet specialty products hand-selected by owners Jeffrey Schrader and Bryan Behling. Both of whom are proud to say that they have personally met or spoken with the producers of these specialty products, and continue to test these products to make sure they continue to be of the highest quality. During the month of November, consumers who spend $25 or more at The Ancient Olive, will receive a 60-mL bottle of extra virgin olive oil or balsamic vinegars (excludes specialty oils). In addition, The Ancient Olive will offer complimentary demos and tastings at the store with some of their producers — and customers will be able to learn first-hand about the products and taste simple recipes that they can make at home. For an added bonus, AMEX customers can register their Express card to get a onetime $10 statement credit when they spend $10 or more on 11/30/13 in a single, in-store transaction at a qualifying small business.
