The Delray Beach Public Library “Food for Fines” holiday project

The “Food for Fines” Holiday Project will once again take place at the Delray Beach Public Library, 100 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida on: • Monday, December 1, 2014 through Friday, December 19, 2014 It will have the dual purpose of collecting food for charities during the Holiday Season as well as allowing the Library to retrieve items of the collection that are out past their due date. If you donate food (canned or packaged) to the Library during this “Food for Fines” campaign, then your fines will be forgiven ONLY FOR THOSE LIBRARY ITEMS THAT YOU RETURN WITH THE FOOD DONATION. Only those specific items returned with a food donation will have fines removed. If you have fines for other items not returned with a food donation, then those fines will remain on your record. A few key points to remember: • Even if you donate a single can of food, fines will be forgiven for every item returned at that time, regardless of the total. • Food for Fines returned books and donated food must be brought to the Circulation Desk on the first floor. The returned Library items will be checked in by staff and fines will be removed for those specific items. • It does not matter if the person returning the Library items is the person that checked the items out originally. The fines will be removed for the items returned with the food donation. • This Food for Fines Holiday Project is for all Library items – books, music, movies, and audiobooks. For further information please contact the Library Circulation Desk at 561-266-0197. Thank you for your support and Happy Holidays!
