Orangetheory Fitness wants its employees to work hard and play hard.
The company debuted its new Boca Raton headquarters recently and the space at Broken Sound Parkway features ways to decompress after a long day of work.
The office space includes a wellness center complete with an infrared sauna, Coldtub polar plunge tub, a dreampod for floating, sleeping pods for naps, a massage room with an onsite masseuse, a meditation room, and a physical therapy room with an on-site physiotherapist.
If employees need a quick break, there is a multi-purpose room known as the EPOC room complete with a hydromassage lounge chair, refreshment bar, gaming consoles, pool table, shuffleboard, ping pong, five TVs with recessed projector and screen, two kitchens, a
micro-market with snacks and a walk/run track.
The 36,000-square-foot facility utilizes all the latest technology inkling three video conference rooms with air media technology, an interactive social media wall where any posts about the company are linked to screens on the wall, a design lab where new workouts are created, a green room complete with audio and visual filming and a state of the art Orangetheory Fitness studio where the company’s technology group and workout design team have the ability to test new equipment, wearable technology and exercise templates.
Of course, the signature color orange is incorporated throughout the building.
“We wanted something lively,” director of design and construction Rory Ellis said. “We wanted something that jived with technology and fitness.”
Ellis said he first saw the space in May 2016. Since then, he and his team of designers and decorators got to work creating what he calls a funky and fun space.
“We want people to have fun when they come to work,” he said. “We are fun and quirky. We wanted to make sure we didn’t lose that.”
He said the work the employees do is taxing and the goal was to create spaces that incorporate wellness into the workday.
Employees will also have access to a full-time wellness manager who will coordinate activities and programs for employees that promote healthy lifestyles.
Orangetheory Fitness began with one studio in 2010 in Fort Lauderdale. Now, there are more than 700 studios in 45 states and 13 countries.
The company is on pace to have 900 studios open by the end of the year. To help with the rapid expansion, there is a new franchisee training room at the headquarters. The training room provides new franchisees with the tools they need to learn how to own and operate an Orangetheory Fitness.
