Volunteer Hall of Fame Award at Morikami

As the bonsai garden grows, volunteers at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden grow with it. Herb Gottlieb, was honored with the Director’s Volunteer Hall of Fame Award – the highest volunteer recognition by Palm Beach County – after dedicating almost 20 years of service to the museum. Gottlieb began his volunteer work at the gardens in 1985 and even worked alongside garden designer Hoichi Kurisu as he built the recognizable Morikami waterfalls. At 94, Gottlieb still leads tour groups through the Morikami and shares his knowledge on the park he’s watched develop from the beginning.
