Admission is free to all events in this the inaugural year, and there is something for everyone, whether you are eight-years-old or eighty. Sponsored by Hyatt Place and Delray Medical Center (who will be presenting information on their Suite Dreams Sleep Disorder Center) “WellFest Delray 2013 is an event that was conceived to help ‘brand’ Delray as a leader in the promotion of Wellness. This speaks to a lifestyle that recognizes the importance of staying fit, eating right, participating in alternative therapies, stress-reduction programs, protecting the environment and much more,” states Bob Lipp, the event founder. “Delray has the climate, the business infrastructure and the people to support an event like WellFest.” In its first year, WellFest Delray will be “a day-long event” with something for almost everyone; wellness enthusiasts and those who want to find out more. WellFest Delray 2013 will feature an Expo with a range of business exhibits, presentations by notable individuals, and fitness demonstrations. The Expo, which will be held in the Delray Center for the Arts gymnasium will feature hands-on demonstrations by leading area acupuncture practitioners, chiropractors, skin care and weight-loss experts, holistic teachers, leading area hospitals, and many more interesting companies. Presentations will be held across the street at Hyatt Place (an exclusive WellFest Delray sponsor) and feature speakers with expertise in a range of topics. They will include nutritional experts, a Deep Ecologist and founder of Inspired Life Workshops, a Feng Shui expert, the Award winning author of Chakra Awakening and the Angel Gemstone Oracle Cards, a meditation instructor who has studied with Deepak Chopra, a certified happiness coach and more.

Among the fitness events held at the Old School Square Pavilion will be an exciting yoga demonstration, Tai-Chi, free boot camp classes and more. Bob chose Delray as the perfect place to launch a wellness event, based on the community’s feel good vibe and active-lifestyle, and hopes to build a “wellness-oriented” lifestyle into the Delray brand, something that he believes can be accomplished in-part with WellFest Delray. Down the road, Bob feels that “wellness- related” businesses will also get the message and see a “wellness-branded” Delray as a potential headquarters, meeting place, or a city worth investing in via sponsorships or other activities.

Bob is not alone in that belief and has enlisted the services and expertise of former mayor Jeff Perlman, who is consulting with Bob on WellFest Delray. “WellFest Delray 2013 will be the inaugural event of what we believe will become a yearly tradition in Delray, added Perlman. “With its year round temperatures that favor an active lifestyle, Delray has always attracted sports, exercise and fitness enthusiasts. Even many of our restaurateurs and chefs are promoting healthier eating, while continuing to cater to all tastes.” For further information, call Bob at 561- 921-5182 or visit www.WellFestDelray.com.
